St’át’imc First Nation artist and ceramicist Patrick Leach is well known across the Pacific Northwest for his uniquely carved ceramics that reflect St’át’imc & Snuneymuxw territory landscapes, cultural practices such as dip-net fishing and traditional basketry, and designs inspired by ancient rock paintings.

Patrick’s ceramics feature distinctive bold black bodies, with finely sgraffitoed designs, cloud-like interior glazes and striking bands of colour reminiscent of Interior & Coast Salish woven baskets and formline styles. His ceramics are of particular interest across North America as he is one of the only established First Nations potters working in the Pacific Northwest.
